Sydney’s Story

Sydney, a 10-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix, has exhibited signs of severe anxiety since she was adopted at 5 months of age. She was started on anti-anxiety medications about a year after adoption. Dr. Zepernick’s interest in acupuncture led her to see if it would provide Sydney additional benefit alongside the medications. There was a noticeable reduction in Syd’s anxiety after the first session. Sydney continues to take her anti-anxiety medications, but she also receives acupuncture every 2 weeks to keep her balanced and happy.

Dr. Zep treated our dog, Jonesy, for almost a year. We came to her when Jonesy was 13-1/2 years old and was suffering with severe arthritis in his spine and knees. It was becoming more difficult for Jonesy to walk and climb the few stairs in our house. After a couple of acupuncture treatments, Jonesy began responding; walking was much easier for him and he could climb stairs unassisted. We continued with weekly acupuncture treatments, and we gained an additional year of a quality life for Jonesy. He did end up passing away at 14-1/2 years old, but that was a good long life for a large dog. Our biggest regret is that we didn’t start with the sessions earlier. We would highly recommend Dr. Zep; she listens to the issues and responds in a caring manner. We will be forever grateful to her for the quality of her care with Jonesy.
